Mathematics
Mathematics equips pupils with a powerful set of tools to understand and influence their world. These tools include logical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and the ability to think in abstract ways.
Mathematics is important in everyday life and many jobs. Mathematics stimulates wonder when a pupil solves a problem for the first time, creates a feeling of success when they discover a more effective method to solve a problem, or suddenly see hidden connections and patterns.
We follow the National Curriculum witihin which the main aims in maths are fluency, reasoning and solving problems. The curriculum includes expectations for each year group and the teacher will use and adapt these in order to include all children.
