Easter Bonnets!
Michael Sheerin
To celebrate Easter this year we made bonnets at home and wore them for our Easter Bonnet Parade. In RE lessons we sequenced the Easter story and in assembly we talked about why and how Christians around the world celebrate Easter.
Historically, Easter is a time that marks 'new life' -new born chicks, lambs and new growth. This also includes wearing new clothes - there is even reference to this in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet!
We had a great day and enjoyed wearing our bonnets, eating buns at Mississippi's bun stall and joining our parents for our Easter parade.
