Year 2 Programming - Beebot
Michael Sheerin
Using the Beebot app the children in Year 2 worked in pairs to create lists of instructions. This activity is part of a Year 2 programming project and reinforces the understanding of quarter turns clockwise and anticlockwise. The children used the on screen key pad to enter a sequence of instructions, then pressed ‘go’. Beebot follows these to hopefully arrive at the target location. It takes quiet a bit of planning and visualisation to get it right. The children are learning that a program is a list of instructions a computer/robot can understand.
