Apple Day!
Rebecca Drinkall
Last week, Year 1 went on a trip to the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate to find out all about apples! First we walked to the orchard and looked at the different size and shape of the trees/apples. Next we tasted three different apples: Grandad Buxton, Flower of the Town and Fillingham Pippin. They were all delicious but our favourite was Grandad Buxton! After that we made our own apple juice. The apple smasher was very heavy and we had to use strong arms to turn the apple presser. Finally we made our very own baked apples. We had to mix the oats together with cinnamon and then spoon it very carefully into our apples.
