Tree Planting in Year 2
Nicola Sheerin
Yangtze class planted 140 trees in our school grounds! The Woodland Trust kindly sent us a mixture of Rowan, Hazel, Goat Willow, Elder, Dog Rose, Silver Birch, Oak and Hawthorn saplings to plant in our school grounds. During the summer term last year we all really enjoyed resting in the shade of the trees we already have in our grounds and we are really excited about developing our grounds further - today’s tree planting is only the beginning. We have supported our saplings with canes and encased them in plastic tubing which we hope will keep them safe from the grass-cutters! We love trees and we know that they are really important for the environment - we can’t wait to see them grow!
