Amazon’s Illuminated Letters

Amazon have been making their own fabulous illuminated letters as part of their Anglo-Saxons topic. Building on our previous learning from Zambezi, we found out what happened in Britain after the Romans left and how we know. Well the answer is that we don’t know everything for certain, but what we do know comes from artefacts found and from illuminated texts written by Anglo-Saxon monks once Christianity had spread. As very few could read and write, the monks used illuminated letters with pictures inside to help tell their stories.
