Bishop Young Music Day

We are true Rock musicians!
What a great day! We spent the day with Mr Steels and Mrs Hannan at Bishop Young Academy learning how to play the guitar and keyboards. We were all complete beginners and by the end of the day could confidently play 4 different chords to accompany 8 songs!
We started the day with a drumming warm-up using drum sticks and chairs to try out some really challenging rhythmic patterns - we had to concentrate hard. Some of us found moving our feet and hands in time really tricky and we’ll do more practice when we get back to school.
We then had to learn different strumming patterns when playing chords on the guitar - again lots of concentration and counting.
Playing chords on the keyboards wasn’t as easy at it looked although lots of us mastered playing with both hands - we really had to persevere with this.
