Children in Need Ramble 2020
Nicola Sheerin
This year to celebrate Children in Need we followed the BBC Countryfile example and went for a family weekend ramble.
The weather was foggy on Saturday and sunny on Sunday - I think you’ll be able to work out who walked on which day by looking carefully at the photos.
There are lots of fabulous places to walk in and around Whinmoor so we didn’t have to travel too far. We explored:
Roundhay park
Templenewsam
Skelton Woods
Harewood - where there were Deer
Newmiller Dam
Golden Acre Park
Crimple Wood
Hetchell Woods
Eccup Reservoir
Oulton Park
Jack walked for 5.1 miles, Nadia walked 9km, Kenzie, Riley and Mikey walked for 2 hours and Ella walked over a 12,000 steps!
Yasin spotted lots of deciduous trees and bushes on his walk and all of us enjoyed the amazing colours of the leaves. Dogs came along on our walks too to keep us company and most of us had very muddy boots at the end of our walks!
